Master these three question types to earn Blasts and Nukes!
① Solving for x
Questions like: 3x + 5 = 14

Isolate the x term. Move the constant to the other side by subtracting it from both sides. 3x + 5 = 14 → 3x = 14 - 5 → 3x = 9

Divide both sides by the coefficient (the number in front of x). 3x = 9 → x = 9 ÷ 3 → x = 3
💡 Tip: If the answer is negative, that is okay! For example, 4x + 10 = 2 → 4x = -8 → x = -2

② Evaluating Expressions
Questions like: If x = 4, what is 2x - 3?

Replace x with the given value. Wherever you see x, plug in the number. 2x - 3 → 2(4) - 3

Multiply first (order of operations), then add or subtract. 2(4) - 3 = 8 - 3 = 5
💡 Tip: "2x" means "2 times x". So if x = 7, then 2x = 14. Always multiply before adding or subtracting!

③ Simplifying Like Terms
Questions like: 3x + 5x = ?x

Add the coefficients together. The coefficient is the number in front of x. Since both terms have x, just add the numbers. 3x + 5x → (3 + 5)x → 8x

How to win at Math Blast Tetris

Earn Blasts first! Answer 3 questions in a row correctly in the Study tab. Wrong answers reset your streak to zero.

Go for Nukes! Keep your streak alive to 10 for a devastating Nuke that wipes 5 full rows. Save these for when the board is almost full.
★
Target wisely. Blasts clear a 3×3 square, Nukes clear 5 rows. Use Blasts for surgical strikes and Nukes for emergencies.
