Gemini Chat Starter

Jump-start student chats with a link that pre-fills the first prompt in Guided Learning mode. In Guided Learning, AI becomes a learning partner instead of an answer machine.

Here are two ways to jumpstart Gemini chats that do work:

diamond Creating a Custom "Gem"

If you regularly need a quick way to access a specifically tailored learning experience without typing out the setup instructions every time, you can create a Gem (a custom version of Gemini):

In the Gemini side menu, select Create a Gem or go to your Gems manager.
Name it something like Guided Math Tutor.
Give it instructions (e.g., "Act as a step-by-step tutor. Do not give the answer immediately; break down the math concept and check my understanding with questions.")
Once saved, you can launch this specific tutor with a single click from your sidebar.

share Sharing a "Template" Chat Link

If you are trying to provide a quick-launch link for other people, you can create a template chat yourself:

Start a new chat, activate Guided Learning, and type your initial prompt.
Click the Share icon at the bottom of the response to generate a public g.co/gemini/share/... link.
When others open this link, they can click "Continue this chat" to pick up right where the prompt left off and interact with Gemini dynamically.
