Mutant Maker

Design your aliens ยท Apply Mendelian Genetics ยท Predict offspring traits

๐Ÿงฌ Step 1 โ€” Design Your Alien Parents
Choose the physical traits for each alien parent. Each trait has a dominant and recessive version. You'll assign their genotypes in the next step.
โ™‚ MALE ALIEN โ€” ZAX-9
โ™€ FEMALE ALIEN โ€” LYRA-7
๐Ÿ”ฌ Step 2 โ€” Assign Genotypes
Each trait is controlled by one gene with two alleles. Capital letters = Dominant (D), lowercase = recessive (r). Choose whether each parent is homozygous dominant (DD), heterozygous (Dd), or homozygous recessive (dd).

๐Ÿ“ Step 3 โ€” Punnett Square Analysis
Each Punnett square shows the possible genotype combinations for one trait. Dominant phenotype = any cell with at least one capital allele. Recessive phenotype = both alleles lowercase.
๐Ÿ‘พ Step 4 โ€” Offspring Predictions
Below are the 4 possible offspring based on all trait combinations. Each inherits one allele from each parent. Dominant alleles mask recessive ones.
